JOB SUMMARY
Performs diagnostic examinations; prepares room for operation of equipment and procedures; cleans and makes minor adjustments; and, maintains inventory of linen and medical supplies in the radiograph room. Perform any and all related duties of the Diagnostic Imaging Department.

Minimum Education
ARRT(N) or registry eligible (if registry eligible, must obtain ARRT(N) within 12 months of hire date).
Hold current Kentucky Operators License.
Minimum Work Experience
One year of experience recommended as a staff technologist.

Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given.
Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintains room, equipment, medicines and materials prevalent to patient care at all times without being reminded.
Performs any and all nuclear medicine examinations in the patient scope of care. Ensures appropriate isotopes and other medicines are utilized for patient safety.
Monitors Patient and equipment during examination and reports unusual occurrences and documents patient condition. Continues to monitor the patient post procedure; check IV and patient status make patient warm and comfortable until the patient departs from the department.
Recognizes and identifies the needs and methods of treatment for patients based upon age, to include pediatric, adolescent and geriatric.
Surveys and records all incoming radioactive material for safety daily.
Explains appropriate paperwork for treatment to the adult or geriatric patient, as well as the the parents or guardian of all pediatric/adolescent or compromised adult patients.
Always fully completes all assessment forms for patient care.
Follows policies regarding consent for treatment and release of medical information regarding all age groups.
Follows all HIPAA requirements.
Demonstrates appropriate awareness for suspected abuse/neglect to all age group patients and takes measures to report them according to protocol.
Identifies and plans for appropriate safety precautions to be taken to prevent injury to all patients.
Demonstrates competency in communication skills a provided eduction to the adult and geriatric patient, or to the parent of legal guardian of the pediatric, adolescent or compromised patient based on their identified needs.
Assist employees in other areas, ex: file room, mammo, ct, nuc med, etc. Be a productive staff member at all
times.
Demonstrate courtesy and proper etiquette to patients, families, visitors and staff members at all times.
Promotes excellent patient care at all times. Keeps family informed of patients condition and provides all reasonable patient or family requests. If unable to provide request offer alternative or a justifiable explanation.
Performs all assigned RIS transactions to ensure that accurate patient and procedure information is recorded in a timely fashion for the patient medical record and billing purposes.
Demonstrates the ability to work with the CR effectively to produce good quality images. Loading cassette, patient identification, proficiency in the use of menu, sends images to PAC workstations; cleans cassettes according to protocol. Has good working knowledge of the PACS. Demonstrates the ability to send images to CD Burner.
