Elementary Education Teacher

Duties As an Elementary Education teacher at Ashton-Franklin Center Elementary School, you will be responsible for delivering engaging instruction in core subjects, fostering a positive classroom environment, and supporting the academic and social development of students.

* Plan and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state curriculum standards.

* Instruct students in core subjects and develop foundational academic skills.

* Assess and evaluate student progress through tests, assignments, and classroom participation.

* Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.

* Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

* Utilize technology and interactive materials to enhance learning.

* Manage classroom behavior and encourage positive social interactions.

* Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.

* Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and school administration.

* Participate in professional development and continuing education.

Qualifications Valid Illinois Professional Educator Licensure (PEL) Salary/Benefits Per the Ashton-Franklin Center CUSD 275 Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The base salary for teachers is $38,335.51 (plus TRS and health insurance benefits, as agreed upon by the AFC Education Association and the Board of Education.) The 2025-2026 contract will be posted once contract negotiations are completed this spring.

* Twelve (12) days per year of sick leave.
