College of The Albemarle welcomes applications from individuals interested in an adjunct (part-time) Instructor, Computer Integrated Machining position.
Part-time and/or substitute instructor appointments are made on a semester-by-semester and/or as needed basis.
Positions are not benefit eligible.

The role of the Part-Time Instructor, Computer Integrated Machining is to provide knowledge in machining and to promote various student-centered learning activities that will stimulate an interest in critical thinking and a desire for life-long learning.
Various teaching strategies, learning styles, and delivery methods, including new technology systems, will be utilized to reach this goal.
The Part-Time Instructor, Computer Integrated Machining receives supervision from the Program Coordinator, Computer Integrated Machining.
* Prepares, teaches and evaluates assigned instructional courses (classroom and lab). * Creates, maintains and updates course information as well as grades in MyCourses.
* Develops supplemental teaching materials to augment courses.
* Implements new teaching strategies as appropriate.
* Maintains accurate records of students' attendance and performance.
* Maintains a hazard free environment and practices safety in lab(s) or classroom.
* Keeps students advised of their progress in class.
* Stays abreast of new developments and changes in academic field.
* Adheres to enforces policies and procedures related to academic area.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Required: * Demonstrated competencies in a comprehensive variety of areas related to Machining.
* Three years of work experience.
* Experience working with conventional machine tools and operations, blueprint reading, job planning, bench layout, precision measurement, machine tool set-up, manual programming and operation of CNC lathes and mills.
Desired: * Six years of work experience in the field of machining-manufacturing.
* Knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
* Diploma in Machining Technology or related field from a regionally accredited college.
Ability: * Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
* Use a computer efficiently, especially standard office software.
* Demonstrate organizational and time management skills.
