Description

Position Summary:

Ensures that the patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments. Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.

Position Responsibilities:

Clinical / Technical Skills (40% of performance review)

Coordinates transportation, and communicates details to patients and staff

Responsible for following up on vehicle maintenance needs

Maintains transportation/maintenance logs

Follow up with patients when absent from group, and provide reminder calls as necessary

Follow up on all inpatient referrals; stepdown admissions

Provides customer service and follow up with inpatient therapist on referrals

Keeping therapist informed of referral and patient status.

Visit with potential outpatient referrals in Intake

Assists in maintaining patient charts, to include admission and insurance data.

Answer phones in a professional manner, and answers questions as appropriate

Escort patients to and from lunch

Collect google reviews form patients

Assist patient when completing Basis 32

Check in patients into the Outpatient department, and enters information in to EMR

Collect co pays from patients

Fax pre-certs to insurance companies

Assist in transportation duties, as necessary

Responsible for knowing hospital policies and being familiar with hospital services that are available.

Refers patient to the Business Office when financial arrangements need to be made.

Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function well in stressful situations.

Ensures that documentation meets current standards and policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

Required: High school diploma or GED. CPR and hospital-selected de-escalation technique certification.

Preferred: Some college courses

Maintains education and development appropriate for position.

Experience

Required: Previous experience in medical or outpatient setting

Preferred: Previous experience in a behavioral health outpatient setting.
