The Opportunity
We're searching for a Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to lead our New Haven team in ensuring our sausage manufacturing processes meet the highest standards of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll shape quality systems, prepare for audits, and inspire a team dedicated to continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
Champion Food Safety: Oversee HACCP, SQF, USDA, and FDA compliance. Lead audits with confidence.
Drive Quality Excellence: Build and improve quality programs, SOPs, and data-driven corrective actions.
Lead & Inspire: Supervise, coach, and develop QA technicians while fostering a culture of accountability.
Strengthen Partnerships: Collaborate across departments and serve as the primary quality liaison with customers and suppliers.
Elevate Standards: Oversee sanitation programs and ensure audit readiness every day.What We're Looking For
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field.
5+ years of progressive QA experience in food manufacturing, with 2+ years in management.
Strong knowledge of HACCP, SQF, USDA, and FDA requirements.
Proven skills in root cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
Preferred:
Sausage/meat processing experience.
PCQI and SQF Practitioner certifications.

Ability to work in cold, refrigerated, and hot environments.
Standing/walking for long periods and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs).
