Inpatient Staff Pharmacist

Staff Pharmacist - Full Time Location: Adena Regional Medical Center, 272 Hospital Road, Chillicothe, OH 45601 Schedule: Variable, 40 hours/week Position Overview: Adena Health System is seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist to join our team in providing safe, effective, and compassionate care.

You will be responsible for preparing, dispensing, and counseling on medications while ensuring compliance with laws, accreditation standards, and professional ethics.

This role may include working with patients of all ages and may require coverage at any Adena entity.

What You'll Do: * Process physician drug orders accurately and efficiently for inpatient, outpatient, or retail settings.

* Compound sterile and non-sterile medications according to established pharmacy principles.

* Assess each drug order for appropriateness and intervene when necessary.

* Document quality assurance activities, including medication evaluations, adverse drug reactions, and errors.

* Lead and guide pharmacy technicians, support personnel, students, and interns to ensure smooth daily operations.

* Complete tasks in compliance with all laws, regulations, and system policies.

* Depending on assignment, interact directly with patients: provide medication and disease-state counseling, perform minor lab procedures, interpret lab results, and administer immunizations following approved protocols.
