Position Title: Paraprofessional I and II, GNETS Division: School Reports To: Principal and/or Assigned Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Salary Schedule: P2-1 (Para I) or P2 (Para II) Work Days: 190 Essential Duties: * Follow all county, state, and federal policies and procedures.
* Monitor and supervise students and provide academic, behavioral, and therapeutic supports to students.
* Assist with the implementation of behavior management plans and IEPs.
* Assist with preparation of materials for instruction, including the copying/duplicating of materials, construction of display/bulletin boards, learning centers and manipulatives.
* Perform necessary clerical tasks as required.
* Implement behavior management techniques as needed.
* Maintain integrity of confidential information related to students and staff.
* Monitor the classroom and students during the teacher's participation in IEP meetings or other activities/planning which require the teacher to be out of the room.
* Provide exceptional customer service on a daily basis and maintain professional practices.
* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications: * Para I - minimum of a High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE), required.
Para II - minimum of 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of college credit above the remedial level from a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution with the grade of "C" or higher.
* Must maintain a Georgia Paraprofessional License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC). * Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
* Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
* Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
* Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
* Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
* Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 60 pounds.
* Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
* Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
