JOB SUMMARY
This role is responsible for accurate and timely processing and payment of weekly and biweekly payroll for employees. This position is responsible for maintaining compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations. This position is responsible for the required tax filing, in accordance with Company policies and procedures and government legal requirements.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collects and verify employee attendance and time sheet data for all business locations: Waukesha, Goldsboro and Service.
Processes employee payroll information (timesheets, deduction authorizations, etc.), prints or transmits paychecks, ensuring accurate and timely payment made to employees for each payroll period.
Keeps current with HR payroll policies and public policy changes affecting payroll rules and guidelines; provides input to policies and procedures for payroll processing.
Calculate wage, benefit, variable pay and deductions
Prepare and file federal state, and local payroll tax returns in a timely manner.
Responsible for payroll information integrity and system coordinator.
Conducts payroll administration requirements and individual employment payroll needs.
Manage payroll imports in and outs of HRIS, including master file and pay data additions and changes.
Responds to payroll questions and concerns of employees, researching records and involving other resources/staff as needed.
Monitor and respond to tax authority communications
Stay up to date with tax laws and regulations.
Process monthly billings and check requests.
Files required documents and reports according to the company's state and federal payroll guidelines (i.e. W2's, unemployment data, garnishments, etc.)
Provides account reconciliations with General Ledger balances, benefits vendor billings, tax, and other deduction and contribution source data.
Generate payroll reports for management and auditors.
Manage adjustments to payroll, such as garnishments, deductions, wage assignments, vacation, variable pay etc.
Processes reimbursements, including travel

Ensures accurate maintenance of payroll records and reports, including compliance with Worker's Compensation, AAP/EEO, ADA, and other local and federal requirements.

Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, and regulations regarding Equal Employment Opportunity, wages, hours, working conditions, employee benefits and welfare programs, and unemployment compensation.
Understanding and experience in processing payroll.
Understanding and experience in tax processing.
Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
Ability to communicate with employees at all levels effectively
Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong knowledge of an HRIS and Time & Attendance system
Work in a fast-paced environment
Work with sensitive material and maintain confidentiality

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Education / Experience
Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Management or a related degree
2-5 years of prior payroll processing experience
2-5 years of local, state and federal tax processing experience
Preferred Education / Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related degree
Over 5 years of payroll processing and human resources experience
