RF - Teacher's Aide - Children's Center - Farmingdale State College

As a Teacher's Aide, you are a part of a vital team working with growing children.

As a part of that team, you will be guided by the Teacher and Assistant Teacher in the classroom.

Your assistance is important to assure that the daily plans and routines are developmentally appropriate for every child in your care.

Some of the duties of a Teacher's Aide include: * Light cleaning of floors and tables after food is served * Coverage in any classroom where help is needed due to absence or other coverage needs.

* Assistance in hand washing of children * Constant supervision of children both inside and outside of the building * Assuring that all OCFS guidelines are complied with in the classroom in regards to cleanliness at all times * Change diapers/clothes when needed * Assist in nap time protocol * Close out the room upon leaving for the day * On occasion, leading the room in the absence of the lead teacher * Providing a role model for Work Study students and Interns * Reporting accidents and incidents in a timely manner * Caring for an ill or hurt child Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * High School diploma * One year of experience working with children under the age of 13 Additional Information: This is a part-time Research Foundation position.
