Get to Know Your Team: * UT Health Athens is a 127-bed facility, including a 24-hour ED, designated as a Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center; advanced diagnostic technology; 10-bed ICU; maternity unit radiation therapy center; and a stand-alone ED in Gun Barrel City.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant: Responsibilities * Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician.

* Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes.

* Clinical duties may include rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.

Qualifications Job Requirements: * High School Diploma or equivalent * Current licensure as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Preferred Job Requirements: * 6 months' medical clinic experience * BLS certification within 30 days of hire
