Position Overview Under general supervision of the Career Development Coordinator, is responsible for facilitation of the employment and vocational programs that include resident employment, community service, integrated job training programs, vocational activities, and volunteer services through fostering relationships within the community.
Maintains monthly reports on employment and community service hours.
Summary of Job Duties Employment * Assist in developing, implementing and maintenance with internal job training programs.
* Facilitate Employment Readiness classes.
* Facilitate Community Service and Employment orientation to residents.
* Assist in the facilitation of job training and vocational activities.
* Administer vocational assessments for the residents and determine placement for employment.
* Integrate and develop contacts with employers and outside vocational training programs/agencies to establish opportunities for the residents * Monitor employment sites to ensure rules are being followed and continue to build relationships with the sites.
Staff will document findings in the computer system.
* Assists residents with obtaining proper identification and documents for vocational programming.
Community Service * Inform residents about the rules and expectations for community service outside of the facility.
* Monitor community service sites to ensure rules are being followed and continue to build relationships with the sites.
Staff will document findings in the electronic system.
* Maintain list of community service and employment sites and contacts as provided by supervisor.
* Communicates with Operations as it relates to community service and employment to assure comprehensive quality care for the residents.
Community Support * Refer residents to community resources and transition programs for employment and vocational services.
* Assist Clinicians/Primary Therapists in treatment and aftercare planning.
Operations * Handle disciplining of residents, enforce procedures for handling of residents and ensure proper documentation is completed.
* Assist in monitoring residents, ordering supplies, preparing incident reports, and other operational duties as needed.
* Assist with the writing of and follow through on any investigations involving residents in the work release or community service programs.
* Assist with transportation, as needed.
Administrative * Participate in staff/team meetings.
* Participate and performs in public relations within the community.
* Participate in collection, preparation, and submission of monthly statistics for annual report.
* Conduct assessments and maintain relevant documentation Minimum Qualifications and Requirements * Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred, in Behavioral Science, Human Resources, Business, Education or related field required.
* Two (2) years of experience in employment/vocational training preferred.
* Obtain a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) within ninety (90) days of appointment to position.
* Valid State of Ohio Driver's License required.
