STATUS: Part-Time, Exempt LOCATION: Hill County Campus, Hillsboro, TX Hill College Police Academy seeks qualified and experienced instructors to teach in their basic peace officer and in-service programs.
Those normally hired are TCOLE certified instructors with related training and experience.
Some other individuals who possess related subject matter expertise will be considered.
Interested persons who do not have a policing background are encouraged to review common TCOLE course titles prior to submitting their application ( This can eliminate time spent on an application where one does not meet the requisite training or experience to obtain employment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) instructor certification, license, and/or subject matter expert (SME) coupled with classroom teaching experience.
Subject matter expertise will be determined by the academy Training Coordinator in compliance with TCOLE rule (215.7). Out of state equivalencies will be considered.
Federal law enforcement experience and equivalencies will be considered.
Military experience and equivalences will be considered.
RESPONSIBILITIES: * Instructors are responsible, in some instances, for the planning and development of course materials.
* Instructors must prepare for all teaching sessions in order to deliver quality instruction.
* Instructors must meet the required instructional hours of each scheduled class.
* Instructors must clearly inform students of course requirements/learning objectives.
* Instructors must fairly and impartially grade all students in accordance with the standards established by the institution and/or the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.

We also have an off-campus educational center located in Burleson.
