University Shuttle Van Driver (Non CDL)

Job Title University Shuttle Van Driver (Non CDL) Summary The Shuttle Bus Driver in the John Carroll University Police Department (JCUPD) is primarily responsible for providing transportation service to students.

During the academic year, JCUPD operates shuttle vans which transport students between the main campus and off campus parking lots.

Duties and Responsibilities * Provide safe and timely transportation service to and from campus.

* Maintain accurate records of ridership.

* Maintain communication with JCUPD staff and other shuttle driver(s) by walkie-talkie (radio) and/or cell phone to ensure efficient and effective service.

* Ensure the shuttle van is clean, and maintenance items are documented and reported to the JCUPD officer-in-charge promptly.

* Provide and maintain an effective and cordial working relationship with students, faculty, administrators, staff, and visitors at all times.

* May be asked to provide vehicle jumpstarts and other basic services in coordination with JCUPD officers.

Required Qualifications * Valid Ohio driver's license.

* Ability to meet insurance and policy requirements to drive JCU vehicles.

* Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

* Interest in understanding and supporting John Carroll's mission to inspire individuals to excel in learning, leadership, and service in the region and in the world.

Preferred Qualifications * Work experience in a customer service focused position.

Normal Work Location, Hours and Conditions This position works in person from our campus in University Heights, Ohio.

Generally 20-30 hours per week as assigned during the academic term, not to exceed 1,000 hours per calendar year.

This position requires work be performed outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends.

The shifts we are looking to fill with this position would be Thursday and Friday 3 pm-10:30 pm and Saturday 5:30-11pm.

Physical Requirements * Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to safely drive a 15 passenger van for extended periods of time.
