Requirements for Success: Specific Required Skills Are Determined by Classroom Structure:

Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment, including paraprofessionals, general education teachers, related service providers, and parents, to ensure the success of every student.

Thorough knowledge of learning standards and experience in delivering a rigorous curriculum that supports skill development across all areas of student development.

Proficiency in employing strategies to support language development, social skills, and adaptive behavior.

Skills in data analysis and the ability to modify instruction to facilitate progress in both academic and behavioral skills.

Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, to engage with students, colleagues, and families.

Proficiency in utilizing ETR/IEP information to design and implement clear, individualized daily lesson plans tailored to each student's needs.

Broad understanding of special education practices and demonstrated teaching proficiency.

Knowledge and experience working with students with complex needs

Ability to utilize assistive technology to support learning

Expertise in conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans

Proficiency in analyzing data to modify instruction and track progress

Completion of Safety-Care training or willingness to do so
