BSW Program Manager & Assistant/Associate Professor

Job Summary

Under direction of the department chair of social work, the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program manager plans, organizes, and directs the operations and functions of the BSW program and provides direct supervision of the BSW program faculty. The faculty member will teach residential (seated) courses in social work, based expertise; and may have the opportunity to teach distance learning courses and may require management or assistance with practicum and internship education program. This full-time position enquires managing curriculum, assessments, course planning, recruitment and retention, & research.

Essential Job Duties

Teach courses in social work as assigned

Serve as a subject matter expert in social work

Serve as the academic advisor to BSVV students & promote a positive environment for students/faculty

Supervise faculty and manage curriculum and assessment for student learning outcomes

Engage in scholarly activities, research, grantsmanship, training & mentorship of faculty/students

Manage curriculum and assessments in collaboration with the chair and other faculty in the department

Attend to student recruitment and retention

Manage the program in consultation with department chair

Manage the quality of the program in accordance with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) & Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accreditation standards

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum MSW from a CSWE-accredited program is required

Doctorate in social work or closely related field and social work license at I-MSW, LCSW, LICSW is preferred

Five or more years of post-MSW social work practice experience in direct practice or administration

Two years of full-time higher education teaching experience or experience as a higher education social work consultant

Experience in strategic planning, leadership, budgeting, and management preferred
