Aging Partners plans, coordinates and advocates for older people in an eight-county area. Our mission is to enhance daily living, expand personal choices and educate the community to ensure the independence and full life of the people we serve.
We are looking for a Personal Trainer to plan, implement and evaluate safe and effective individual physical activity programs for older adults.
What You'll Do:
Develop relationships with fitness center participants that will ensure cooperation and positive outcomes and experiences.
Develop training programs for individuals at Aging Partners Fitness Center.
Teach individuals about fitness equipment and its safe usage.
Help participants with required intake and health questionnaires as needed. Turn all required forms into staff for data entry purposes.
Assist in teaching fitness classes as requested.
Lead occasional workshops and participates in resource fairs as requested.
Help with television programs, special events, health education programs and promotional activities.
Desirable Knowledge, Ability and Skills:
Experience and knowledge in planning and leading physical activity classes for targeted populations. Empathy for and an interest in working with older adults and caregivers required. The Personal Trainer must be responsible, able to work autonomously and use sound judgment in case of an emergency.
Communication, organizational skills, and a desire to develop creative ways to serve target populations are a plus.
Minimum Requirements:
Current Personal Trainer qualification
Knowledge of CPR and first aid procedures
Temporary, on call, and seasonal positions with the City are not eligible for benefits.
