POSITION SUMMARY:
The Buyer/Planner is responsible for procuring materials and managing inventory to support production schedules. This role evaluates supplier performance, reviews Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and requisitions, and works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality-driven purchasing decisions. Strong planning and communication skills are essential to maintain material flow and minimize production disruptions.
IDEAL EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of experience in planning, scheduling, purchasing, or customer service within a manufacturing environment, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, MRP systems, and web-based tools. They must excel at managing multiple projects under pressure, prioritizing tasks effectively, and communicating clearly with cross-functional teams. The Buyer/Planner will collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and external vendors to develop efficient planning strategies that reduce lead times, control costs, and maintain high-quality standards.
ESSENTAL RESPONSIBILITES:
Responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the facility and safety and wellness of all team members.
Responsible to ensure process adherence to all applicable quality policies and procedures to assure quality product with priority for patient safety.
Communicate regularly with all members of the team to maintain a high level of morale.
Procure materials, components, equipment, supplies, and services necessary for the operation of the company.
Plan, schedule, and monitor goods and services to meet production and operational requirements.
Review purchase requisitions and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to evaluate suppliers and make informed procurement decisions
Set up and maintain material, supplier, and planning data in the MRP/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Leverage product and market knowledge to make informed purchasing decisions that balance cost, quality, and delivery.
Coordinate with Engineering and Production to determine material requirements and ensure smooth material flow through production cycles.
Identify and evaluate new suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery standards.
Collaborate with Shipping, Finance, and Suppliers to resolve discrepancies related to shipments or invoicing.
Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery terms with suppliers and partners.
Perform cost estimation and quotation for both existing and new business opportunities.
Act as liaison between customers, planners, sales, and operations; facilitate technical reviews and discussions.
Research and resolve customer inquiries related to request for quotes, proposals, and order status.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a Buyer/Planner or similar supply chain role in a manufacturing environment.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Working knowledge of MRP systems
Lean manufacturing experience preferred Qualifications
