Posting Number FAE1958 Advertised Title Postdoctoral R&D Entrepreneurship Fellow Campus Location Main Campus (Memphis, TN) Position Number L22928 Category Full-Time Faculty Department VP Research Position Summary Deep Science Postdoctoral R&D Entrepreneurship Fellow will work in a highly collaborative environment to conceive experiments, conduct research, and analyze data to get University of Memphis patented technologies ready for market.

Fellows should hold a PhD degree in an area of science related to the technology targeted for commercialization and be able to work independently and with modest scientific mentoring from the inventor to achieve program goals.

Fellow will also participate in entrepreneurship and start-up training provided by innovation partner Epicenter Memphis.

Minimum Position Qualifications A Ph.D.

with emphasis on research related to patented technologies.

Advanced ABD's may be considered if degree completion is imminent.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including a proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desired Qualifications: (Ideal applicant; applicants without these skills will be considered). Strong record of prior publication in field of study.

Strong interest in entrepreneurship and desire to pursue startup development.

Strong interest in working in a lab environment.

Strong interest in working in a startup culture.

Special Conditions This is a 12-month appointment with potential of extension contingent upon continued funding and satisfactory performance.
