Oversees major project planning and implementation for the Medical Center and directs appropriate resources in support of the individual projects.

Ensures rigorous planning and input to ensure that the resources of the Medical Center are maintained and utilized to the fullest extent.

+ Directs and coordinates efforts for large scale Medical Center projects.

+ Schedules timeframes establishes priorities and monitors schedules and budgets for projects.

+ Specifically involved in information technology deployments and major medical center initiatives such as major technology investments and new business acquisition.

+ Directs and leads planning efforts for projects and initiatives throughout the Medical Center.

+ Coordinates involvement of all stakeholders and outside consultants as needed.

+ Coordinates operational issues and facilities issues to ensure conformance with both specific and institutional goals.

+ Provides regular project updates for senior leadership and Medical Center management.

+ Develops tracks manages and analyzes capital budget for appropriate cost accounting.

+ Develops plans for reallocation of capital as needed to address overages shortages and project changes.

+ Reviews and recommends approval of budgets and schedules for projects in concert with institutional priorities.

+ Directs efforts of project managers who typically manage up to six major projects at a time.

+ Establishes priorities and monitors schedules and budgets.

+ Acts as Project Manager for mission-critical high-profile projects that require special attention.

+ Leads implementations including selection design validation testing training pilot selection compliance utilization of tools rollout acceptance and optimization.

+ Gathers feedback from clients on project results; analyzes feedback and incorporates into future programs.

+ Selects hires trains evaluates and motivates subordinate employees.

+ Serve as a champion of the Project Management methodology within UVA Health.

Encourage other team members performing project management work to use standard tools and methodologies.

+ In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENT** Education: Bachelor's degree in business healthcare administration or related field required; Master's degree must be obtained within 4 years of hire or transfer.

Experience: 10 years of experience in project planning and management is required.

Preferred background in academic Medical Center or healthcare environment.

Licensure: Certification in Project Management is required.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS** This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers.

The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
