Tech I: $23-26.00 (1 candidate)

Tech II: $29-32.00 ( 1 candidate)

Mon-Fri 7:30pm - 5:00am (9/8/80B) Every other Friday off - 10% Shift Differential

Fri-Monday (4x10) 7pm-5:30am - 18% Shift Differential

Job Description: Health, Safety, and Environmental Technician I/II

Position Summary:

This position will serve as a member of the Health, Safety & Environmental team with emphasis on General Industry Occupational Health and Safety. Reporting to the HSE Supervisor, primary responsibilities include promoting and implementing HSE objectives, programs, policies, and procedures, focusing on occupational health and safety. The HSE Tech II will work to establish a safety culture that prevents occupational incidents and injuries.

Primary Duties:

Under the general supervision of the HSE Supervisor, the HSE Technician II will:

Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of the bioMerieux Quality System.

Implement and monitor facility health & safety programs, policies, and procedures.

Collect and analyze safety incident and injury statistics, reporting results to the safety committee and stakeholders.

Assist in monitoring environmental practices and permitting to ensure compliance.

Perform job safety analyses (JSAs) and recommend corrective actions.

Conduct safety training, including new employee safety orientation and specific occupational health and safety topics.

Compile statistics and reports relevant to safety training.

Inspect and maintain safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, safety showers/eye wash stations, first aid kits, and AEDs.

Assist with site Safety Committee activities and Building Emergency Response Teams (B.E.R.T) as needed.

Maintain the company-wide, web-based chemical inventory list and Safety Data Sheets.

Conduct incident investigations, including root cause analysis (RCA), and recommend corrective and preventive measures.

Collaborate with the continuous improvement (CI) team on safety-related initiatives.

Conduct safety and environmental inspections.

Perform incident and near-miss investigations.

Other duties as assigned.

Supplemental Data:

May work at multiple physical locations including office, warehouse, clean space manufacturing, R&D lab, and biochemistry environments.

Must possess a valid Utah State driver's license for possible local travel between Salt Lake City client buildings.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in safety, or other technical discipline (e.g., engineering, industrial hygiene, science), or 3 or more years of relevant experience.
