The Student Employment Coordinator provides a variety of services to student employees and supervisors to assist with hiring, onboarding, and payment processes, as well as clarification of existing college policies and procedures governing student employment. As part of the student employment team and committee, the coordinator will assist with reporting, creating and updating processes and policies, and coordinating processes and cases between IT, HR, student payroll, and the Career Education Office.
Essential Job Functions:
20% A. Support student supervisors with hiring students in Workday and/or a designated applicant tracking system - including but not limited to training and assisting supervisors and working with IT to resolve technical issues.
20% B. Serve as a first line of response to supervisors, throughout the student employment life cycle, to provide clarification and respond to questions regarding policies and procedures.
20% Assist students with onboarding in Workday - via emails and in person, including but not limited to explaining and assisting students with the onboarding steps and working with IT to resolve access and other technical issues.
15% D. Work with student payroll to resolve student payment issues, including student time entry, supervisor time approval, and missing student data that causes payroll errors.
15% E. Serve on and help to coordinate the Student Employment Administrators team: create and update policies and processes, prepare communication, and coordinate practices and cases between different departments.
10% F. Reporting, filing, and/or other tasks as assigned to support the broader operation of the Career Education Office.
Education:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Professional Experience:
Required: 1 year of administrative experience in an office or customer service environment.
Preferred: Experience working with students in higher education.
Computer Skills: Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Workday preferred.
Other Skills, Abilities, Qualifications: Team-oriented and flexible professional with a commitment to being customer-service oriented. Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.
