Who you are… * Paint Engineering Single Point of Contact for the following systems: * Sludge systems * Emission Controls and Abatement * Cleaning (Integrated Facility Management & Total Booth Maintenance) * Support emerging issues involving current, future environmental regulations, and process strategies.

* Help coordinate environmental requirements and strategies with Advanced Material Development, Facilities Engineering on implementation and replication including the support of Strategy Development considering Affordable Business Structure.

* Benchmark competitor's technologies and direction in the development of Ford's Paint Strategy and Environmental Direction.

* Utilize Six Sigma, data driven approaches in the development of Advanced Materials and Processes that lead to Lean and Flexible Manufacturing.

* Identify, develop, and implement energy and sustainability projects to support VO's commitment to corporate goals.

VO Paint - Manufacturing Engineer - Environmental Systems Specialist What you'll do: Paint Engineering * Work to understand paint processing systems and environmental requirements.

* Support the development of materials and process technologies to address current and emerging environmental requirements.

* Be part of a team that develops, and implements an annual non-prod project for the life-extension and performance improvement of the paint shop's emission control systems (abatement). * Support plants and programs on issues related to all areas of designated SME responsibility.

* Support plants in resolving booth performance issues.

Coordinate with Total Booth Management (TBM) and Filtration Management suppliers to resolve issues and drive solutions.

* Develop and implement an annual non-prod project for the refurbishment and life-extension of abatement systems.

Develop all bid packages, perform clarifications, and support sourcing decisions on all activities.

Manage at least one activity directly while providing ongoing technical support to all field implementation.

Environmental Quality Office (EQO) * Factory of Tomorrow - Provide input on potential strategies and tactics to reduce the carbon footprint of existing paint processes, bridging the present state's gap to future vision.

* Support competitive assessments of paint processes, practices, and environmental strategy to develop and deploy Ford's environmental strategy and policy.

* Work to understand current and proposed environmental legislation for developing Ford's Paint and Environmental strategy.

* Coordinate with the plant paint management, equipment suppliers, engineering firms, and EQO on paint emission issues and odor complaints.

* Respond to Plant Environmental Controls Engineer (PECE) requests for information on abatement equipment, operating parameters, facility layout, and process system operation.

* Review plant CAM Plan revisions (Compliance Assurance Monitoring) to ensure that the system capability and plan assurances are aligned.

* Update the plant process flow schematic when changes are made in booth, oven, or abatement airflow.

* Consult with EQO to develop strategies supporting product programs aligned with environmental permit constraints.

* Coordinate regularly with PECEs, Environment Compliance Engineers, and leadership on the abatement non-prod project's progress and redirect priorities as required.

* Develop and support Long Term Investment Sustainability projects.

Corporate Safety: * Act as the single point of contact for combustion safety issues at the plants.

Manage the 3rd party safety inspections on all VO boilers.

Ensure the "critical" safety issues are resolved promptly.

* Participate in monthly Core Team meetings to discuss inspection progress and issues of concern.

As the VO representative with the majority of the combustion equipment in Ford, the position takes a lead role in the team's actions.

Ford Land Energy: * Develop projects and work with Ford Land to develop performance contracts (Cleaning). * Coordinate with Ford Land to include the energy impact of significant process changes on the plant's Energy Roadmap.

* Work with Ford Land, suppliers, and plants to estimate energy and budget impacts of program process changes.
