What You'll Do

Reporting directly to the President Judge, you'll provide high-level legal expertise and serve as a versatile legal resource for judicial operations. You will:

• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda and opinions for Senior Judges handling active caseloads

• Train and mentor new law clerks, creating and implementing a comprehensive onboarding and development program

• Bridge the gap during law clerk transitions, ensuring uninterrupted support for chambers

• Provide legal assistance to various court departments, including statutory interpretation and legal analysis

• Review invoices submitted by conflict counsel to ensure accuracy and accountability

• Assist with diversion programs, class action matters, and special legal projects assigned by the President Judge

• Manage the workflow of opinions across 15 judicial chambers

Essential Job Functions (Approximate Breakdown)

• 40% - Legal research and drafting for Senior Judges

• 30% - Transition support, invoice review, and special project assistance

• 10% - Law clerk training and mentorship

• 10% - Legal guidance for Court Departments

• 10% - Coverage and support for diversion programs

What We're Looking For

• A J.D. from an accredited law school

• Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar

• Five years of legal experience (civil, family, and criminal law preferred)

• Strong legal writing, research, and critical thinking skills

• A collaborative mindset and a commitment to public service
