We offer HUD-certified housing counseling, financial education, and support services to help our clients build assets and achieve long-term financial well-being.
The Financial Capabilities coach is responsible for providing one-on-one and group coaching to clients to help them build financial knowledge, skills, and behaviors that promote long-term economic stability.
The coach empowers individuals and families to achieve their financial goals through education, planning, and strategic support.
In addition, s/he plays a central role in ensuring that the program delivers high-quality services.
Programs at the Homeownership Center include: HUD certified Homebuyer Education and counseling for pre-and-post purchase, Home Preservation services for Foreclosure Prevention and Home Repair.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Financial Coaching & Client Support * Conduct individualized financial assessments to identify client needs and goals.
* Deliver one-on-one coaching sessions focused on budgeting, saving, debt reduction, credit building, and long-term financial planning.
* Develop and monitor customized action plans to help clients achieve financial stability.
* Track client progress and adjust strategies as needed to ensure continued growth.
Education & Outreach * Facilitate group workshops on financial literacy topics such as banking, credit, taxes, and income management.
* Represent the Tejano Center at community outreach events to promote services and build awareness.
* Maintain current knowledge of financial tools, resources, and policy changes affecting clients.
Collaboration & Case Management * Work closely with case managers, employment counselors, and external partners to provide integrated support.
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation in client records and case management systems.
* Participate in internal and partner meetings, including HOC, United Way THRIVE, and Financial Capacities initiatives.
Administrative & Compliance * Provide administrative support to the Director of Housing and Community Redevelopment.
* Submit timesheets and expense reports in a timely manner.
* Ensure compliance with Fair Housing and Civil Rights regulations.
* Offer referrals to community resources not provided directly by the Tejano Center.
