Position: Cook – Full Time

Facility: Yamato Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Location: Boca Raton, FL

Shift: Morning or Evening – Flexible

Salary: $16.50/hour

Yamato Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our culinary team. As a key member of our food service department, you’ll help ensure our residents enjoy nutritious, delicious, and safe meals every day.

Key Responsibilities:

Follow all Standard Precautions, safety policies, and infection control protocols.

Maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment; operate and store equipment safely.

Review daily menus, census info, and prep guides to determine food quantities.

Prepare meals in accordance with dietary restrictions, modified consistencies, and standardized recipes.

Ensure timely meal prep and maintain food quality.

Use various kitchen equipment such as convection ovens, mixers, slicers, steamers, food processors, and more.

Serve meals attractively using proper utensils and presentation techniques.

Support special meal functions and promote a positive dining experience for residents.

Advocate for resident food preferences and satisfaction.

Use tray tickets and menus to ensure accuracy and meal customization.

Qualifications:

High school diploma preferred.

Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math needed for recipes.

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a large-scale cooking operation preferred.

Knowledge of safe food handling practices required.
