With ten strategically located sites across the United States, Valence provides a start to finish solution from NDT and chemical processing, to paint and sub-assembly.
Summary:
Responsible for leading the department in achieving established periodic testing requirements and provide strategic planning to enable the department to meet those goals.
Responsibilities:
Provide general oversight and support for the lab and assistants
Oversee adherence to test methods and laboratory procedures
Perform inventory management of all bulk and reagent chemicals
Direct the proper preparation, storage, and use of all controlled materials
Evaluates supplies and materials needed for testing and directs purchasing department on correct ordering
Keep accurate records related to testing activities and prepare summary reports of data in a timely manner
Troubleshoot instruments, equipment, and production processes
Perform routine analytical and physical process control testing including evaluation of external test reports
Leads continuous improvement initiatives in the laboratory department including internal auditing
Participates in audits pertaining to NADCAP, AS9100, & Individual Customer Surveillance Audits
Identifies or recommends new or upgrading of equipment and/or methods to improve productivity and capacity
Monitors, measures and implements corrective action to improve results within the department
Participate in new process implementation within the company including customer specification reviews
Interact with outside vendors, laboratories, and customer's to communicate requirements and resolve issues
Motivates, coaches, and develops employees within the department
Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry preferred or a minimum of 5 years related experience
Laboratory functions within a manufacturing setting
Prefer at least 5 years of related work experience
