Position Type: Student Support Services Date Posted: 6/24/2025 Location: District Closing Date: Until Filled Additional Information: Show/Hide Date: June 24, 2025 From: Office of the Superintendent Subject: Vacancy Position: Speech Therapist - Franklin Pennsauken Public Schools is an urban/suburban Pre-K to 12th grade school district of approximately 5,000 students located in Camden County, New Jersey Responsibilities: * Develops lesson plans and prepares for the daily instructional program * Evaluates student progress and provides progress reports as required * Strives to maintain professional competence * Identifies pupil needs in cooperation with other professional staff members and assists in assessing and helping pupils with school related problem * Enforces school rules, administrative regulations and board policy * Maintains communications with parents, administrators and other professional staff members in order to best serve the interests of students * Acts as the evaluator for referrals made by the building principals for a determination of eligibility for speech correction services.
* Provides speech and language therapy for students classified as eligible for Speech Services, as per their Individual Education Plans.
* Acts as a Child Study Team member, when assigned by the Chairperson, providing consultative and evaluation information as applicable.
* Assists in the development of evaluation plans, as per the assignment of referrals, participating in evaluations as outlined in accordance with N.J.A.C.
6:28-3.4.
* Writes speech and language assessments detailing evaluations and analysis of the pupil's speech and language performance and developmental characteristics.
* Provides speech and language therapy to classified students as per their Individual Education Plans.
* Serves as a consultant to all administrators and professional staff on issues of speech therapy as it pertains to student performance.
* Maintains membership on assigned School Resource Committees, as needed.
* Serves as a consultant to the assigned families of our community on speech and language issues such as private evaluations for speech, language and hearing assessments, as well as private therapy options.
* Performs all professional duties in accordance with the specifications outlined in the CST Department Employee Guidelines Manual.
* Performs other duties within the scope of employment as assigned by the Director of Student Support Services or his/her designee.
