Deane School of Law at Hofstra University is pleased to invite applications for a lateral tenured faculty member, to begin in Fall 2026.

We seek candidates with a strong record of significant scholarship and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and institutional service who will bring diverse experiences and perspectives to enrich our law school community.

We are seeking candidates across all subject areas, with particular interest in candidates with research and teaching interests in Constitutional Law, Criminal Procedure, Evidence, Environmental Law, and Family Law.

The Professor of Law will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: * Teaching substantive courses in agreed-upon doctrinal areas * Research, publishing and contributing to the national and local legal scholarly community * Participating in law school and university events and committees to create a supportive learning environment for students, faculty, and staff.

Qualifications * A J.D.

degree is required.

Salary/Salary Range $175,000-$220,000 Additional Information Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.

In addition to the salary offered, we offer a collegial and inclusive culture, and a benefits program which includes generous paid time off, paid holidays, tuition remission for employees and eligible dependents, and a retirement plan with University contributions.
