Description:

Responsible for performing routine screening mammograms complex diagnostic procedures using digital mammography equipment under the direction of a radiologist.

+ Operates approved digital imaging equipment using established ACR and FDA guidelines along with imaging protocols set within the mammography program.

+ Documents correct information on each patient using EMR and facility reporting systems.

+ Verifies patient and procedure using University and departmental established protocols.

+ Monitors and records the physiological condition of the patient prior to and throughout the procedure.

+ Ensures proper safety standards are met.

+ Instructs students and residents and performs preceptor duties when necessary.

+ Performs quality assurance checks on equipment.

+ Assists in maintaining supply inventory.

+ Participates in on-going service and process improvement efforts.

+ In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $33.27 - $53.23 Hourly MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of a JRC accredited program in Radiography required.

Associate's Degree in Radiography preferred.

Completion of an FDA certified Mammography Tech Training Program required.

Experience: No experience required Licensure: Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) required.

ARRT (R)(M) certification required within one year of hire.

American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and traveling, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs.

May be exposed to chemicals, fumes, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
