The Sociology Part-Time Instructor will lead or facilitate instruction for Sociology courses such as SOC 131 Introductory Sociology, SOC 245 Sociology of the Family, SOC 310 Population and Society, SOC 365 Social Change in Appalachia, SOC 380 Jobs and Professionalization, SOC 300 Animals and Society, SOC 383 Environment and Society, and SOC 399 Gender & Society.
Instruction may be online or in-person, depending on Sociology Program needs.
Applicants should specify in their cover letter if they are only available to teach in one format.
Part-Time Instructors chosen to facilitate online for the SOC 131 Introductory Sociology, SOC 232 Social Statistics, or SOC 399 Gender & Society online course will work with the course instructor to moderate online discussion, answer student questions, grade assignments, etc.
Applicants should have at least 18 hours in a related graduate degree such as Sociology, Applied Sociology or Criminology.
Sociology M.A., M.S., or Ph.D.
preferred.
Part-time faculty may teach up to nine credit hours, depending on departmental needs.
