Warehouse Forklift Operator

Job Details

Our client is seeking a Warehouse Forklift Operator to efficiently handle materials, products, and equipment within a warehouse or distribution center. The Warehouse Forklift Operator will be responsible for operating a sit-down forklift to load, unload, transport, and organize inventory while maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operate Forklift: Safely operate a sit-down forklift to move, stack, and transport materials within the warehouse.

Loading and Unloading: Efficiently load and unload trucks and shipping containers.

Inventory Management: Assist in organizing, stacking, and storing products in designated areas.

Order Picking: Retrieve and prepare items for shipment with accuracy and care.

Storage & Shelving: Properly place products in warehouse shelving, racks, and bins.

Safety Compliance: Follow all company safety regulations, including PPE requirements and forklift operation protocols.

Equipment Maintenance: Conduct pre-shift inspections and report any maintenance needs.

Warehouse Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring aisles and loading docks are clear.

Team Collaboration: Work effectively with warehouse staff to ensure efficient operations and timely order fulfillment.

Qualifications

Prior experience operating a sit-down forklift or similar equipment preferred.

Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification as required by employer).

Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and remain on feet or seated for extended periods.

Strong attention to detail for accurate inventory control and order fulfillment.

Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and best practices.

Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
