Barton Campus GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES In this challenging role, you will be supporting the SSS - Stud Supp Svcs department at Greenville Technical College.
Duties may include any or all of the following.
Develop course curriculum and teach course as assigned.
* Submit bi-weekly lesson plans to Program Director.
* Administer pre-test and post-test, evaluate strengths and weaknesses of each student.
* Develop a plan for students relevant to their academic needs, maintains accurate records of student performance and attendance.
* Complete required paperwork and submit end of Academic Component report.
* Attend Instructors staff meetings.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
The Greenville Technical College TRIO Upward Bound Program provides college preparatory services for high school students.
The program is federally funded to serve 65 students from the following Greenville County High Schools; Berea, Carolina Academy, Southside, and Woodmont.
The Upward Bound Program is currently seeking a Composition/ Literature Instructor for its Academic and Summer Component Sessions.
The subjects covered during Saturday's Sessions are Writing, Science, Computers, Math, and ACT Prep.
The Summer Component Sessions provides students with an intensive six week experience.
Which help students to develop the skills necessary for success in college.
Instructors will teach 2 Saturdays each month from September 2025 to May 2026 Upward Bound Instructors will have the responsibility of developing a curriculum in their area of expertise that will provide instruction as well as enrichment experiences for high school students.
Instructors will also provide a caring learning environment and encourage positive attitudes towards learning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor's degree in English OR a bachelor's degree with 24 credit hours in English PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred) in English.
At least one year of experience as a teacher in a regular classroom setting that required the preparation of lesson plans and lectures, the grading of student's written and oral work, and the administration of exams.
At least one year experience in curriculum development and experience teaching and/or providing services to low-income first-generation youth such as those that the project service.
Experience teaching on line if required.
