Position: Full-time Inpatient Psychiatrist (6 positions available)

Description:

The Department of Psychiatry at Flushing Hospital Medical Center, a key component of the MediSys Health Network, seeks full-time Inpatient Psychiatrists to join our comprehensive behavioral health program. Our services include an 18-bed inpatient psychiatric unit, a full-service outpatient clinic, a 30-bed medically managed detoxification unit (the only one in Queens), and specialized community-based services tailored to our diverse population.

This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality psychiatric care, teach medical students and residents through our ACGME-accredited residency affiliation, and work within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

Conduct psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.

Manage medication regimens and provide psychotherapy.

Handle acute psychiatric crises including psychosis and suicidal ideation.

Collaborate with social workers, nurses, and therapists for comprehensive care.

Participate in resident and medical student education.

Requirements

M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution.

Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited psychiatry residency program.

Board Certification in Psychiatry (ABPN) preferred.

Valid New York State medical license (or eligibility).

Inpatient psychiatry experience preferred.

Compensation:

Competitive salary starting at $300,000, commensurate with experience. Full benefits package offered.
