Work under the supervision of a certified teacher(s) QUALIFICATIONS: Education / Certifications: * High school diploma or GED * Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate * PAC Test (No Chid Left Behind) / 48 College Hours * Bilingual Test (if applicable) Special Knowledge / Skills: * Knowledge of general office equipment * Light clerical skills * Ability to work well with school-aged children * Basic computer skills, i.e.
Excel, Word Processing, Publisher Experience: * Some experience working with school-aged children MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: * Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policy * Assist the teacher(s) in preparing instructional materials * Work with individual students or small groups to complete instructional exercises by the teacher(s) * Assist with the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments * Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom * Keep the teacher(s) informed of any special needs or problems of individuals students * Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom * Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment * Assist the teacher(s) in keeping administrative records and preparing required reports * Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as needed * Perform other duties as may be assigned WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands: Ability to communicate effectively (verbal); maintain emotional control under stress; interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate district functions Physical Demands / Environmental Factors: Frequent prolonged and irregular hours; Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer; steady phone interactions; moderate standing, walking, and bending
