and Duties The Health Record Technician III (Supervisor) will be directed by the Health Information Management Director in the Health Information Management Department at the Department of State Hospitals - Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to: * Directly Supervise the HRT II Supervisor, HRT II Specialists within the Medicare/Fee for Service sections, coding and billing, HRT I's within the health record processing/audit and Fee for Service, and clerical support services in HIMD.
* Completion of performance evaluations in a timely manner, with proper content, and ensuring all staff is current in mandatory training.
* Represents DSH-A at internal and external meetings related to coding and billing processes including departmental workgroups.
* Updates DSH-A management on issues, problems, and recommends resolutions.
* Assists in recruitment, selection, and development of record personnel.
* Applies the principles of effective supervision to include timekeeping.
* Promotes effective teamwork, lines of communication, and positive staff morale.
* Completes special projects as assigned.
