Job Title School of Business Administration Position Summary Student employee will provide support for the School of Business Administration (SOBA). Duties include clerical and receptionist responsibilities.
Will assist administrative personnel and professors with various clerical duties and SOBA events.
Federal Work-Study Awarded students preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Support SOBA staff including front office responsibilities, special events and programs, scanning, filing, running errands and sorting mail.
* Answer telephone calls and transfer the calls to appropriate individual or department.
* Maintain a clean, organized and professional work environment.
* Assist students, faculty, staff and visitors with excellent customer services.
* Communicate and resume any tasks that were not completed during the previous shift.
* Assist with SOBA events set up and tear down.
* Assist lab users with basic computer programs.
* Monitor computer usage and maintain an accurate log.
* Restock copiers with paper and other supplies as needed.
* Notify the office staff of any faulty or defective computer equipment.
* Enforce the no food or drink policy in the computer labs.
* Arrange desks, chairs and computer equipment at the end of the shift/day in preparation for the next shift.
* Due to the nature of the position, other duties and responsibilities may be needed.
Students will be informed of any changes.
Preferably looking for Federal Work-Study awarded students.
Education, Certifications and/or Licenses * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Experience None required, will train!
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Ability to work well with diverse faculty, staff, and students.
* Ability to work independently in an efficient and effective manner with minimum supervision.
* Ability to follow instructions or directives and promptly complete tasks as requested without follow-up.
* Ability to handle a variety of responsibilities and multitask on a short notice.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality, while complying with FERPA regulations.
* Ability to work during the day and periodic evening events during Fall and Spring semesters.
* Proficiency with an integrated administrative system and current software programs (MS Office), especially Word and Excel.
* Proficient use of standard office equipment.
* Ability to adhere to university and departmental policies and procedures.
* Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
* Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations.
* Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
