Position at JAC Products
The Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for the overall operational and financial success of multiple business units at our manufacturing facility located in Napoleon, Ohio. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role is crucial for hitting annual financial targets while ensuring a safe work environment, high-quality products, on-time delivery, and minimal inventory.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Create action plans to meet annual performance metrics and financial goals.
Safety: Prioritize employee health and safety, exceeding all regulatory requirements.
Leadership: Manage plant operations when the Plant Manager is absent.
Talent Management: Oversee the recruiting, onboarding, and training of new employees in assigned areas.
Culture: Promote a positive and engaging work environment for all staff.
Quality Control: Enforce company quality standards and implement timely corrective actions.
Employee Development: Coach and mentor direct reports to help them achieve high performance and career growth.
Performance Management: Effectively manage the unit's financial and operational performance, taking corrective action as needed.
Compliance: Ensure all company policies and practices are followed within your assigned units.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or similar discipline required; advanced degree preferred
Thress (3) + years of supervisory experience in a Tier I manufacturing environment required
Manufacturing knowledge of equipment, tooling processes and quality systems; IATF, assembly processes, and Toyota Production System knowledge strongly desired
Experience in Production Control, Inventory / Material Flow, Quality, and Tool Engineering required
Knowledge of Automotive OEM systems, processes and documentation requirements necessary
Some travel required to visit customers and other JAC facilities (less than 30% travel expected)
Demonstrated ability to solve problems using sound judgement and have strong business and financial acumen
Excellent communication skills
Advanced computer skills
