PURPOSE OF JOB:

Perform radiographic procedures on Inpatients, Outpatients and

Emergency Department patients. Process radiographs, and ensure all

paperwork and computer entries are completed and work given to

radiologists for interpretation.

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A. Patient Care: Verify patient ID and physician orders.

Prep and inject patients. Perform radiologic procedures in

department O.R. and using portable equipment, including R&F,

C-arm, Panelipse, Franklin Head Unit, and dedicated chest unit.

Perform procedures on infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and

geriatric patients applying age-specific criteria.

B. Patient Documentation and Departmental Records: Compile and

maintain patient records and log books. Utilize hospital

computer applications to enter, view and process patient/exam

data and charges.

C. Departmental Coordination: Perform start-up and shut-down of

equipment, and daily maintenance/quality checks. Make

film copies. Maintain department supplies. Assist with QI

program.

D. Work Behavior and Conduct: Follow hospital and departmental

policies and procedures, i.e. attendance, dress code,

confidentiality, completing assigned duties. Work hours required

to meet department/patient needs, including on-call, overtime and

holidays.

E. Professional Growth and Development: Attend educational and

training sessions to enhance professional and personal knowledge

and awareness. Maintain required certifications/licenses.

Mentor radiology students: Supervise students in clinical setting

G. Recognize the existence of cultural differences; utilize

appropriate resources available throughout the Hospital to

respond to the needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult

and geriatric patient, family member and/or visitor.

Job Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program.

ARRT Registered

B. Experience: Prior experience and/or training in use of all

general radiographic equipment, including portable

and C-arm units, R&F, and dedicated chest units.

Experience with Teleradiology system helpful.

C. Other Skills: Good communication and customer service skills.

Current BLS certification.

D. Training time required once hired: One month
