The Protective Services Officer is responsible for patrolling JHMI campus via foot, mobile unit or bicycle to protect against illegal activities, theft, fire, vandalism, hazardous conditions,

infringements, etc.

Education:

Work requires a comprehensive knowledge of security functions as would normally be acquired

by significant experience in a security operation preferably with completion of a High School

degree or equivalent. Requires acceptable completion of basic security officer training.

Assignment to the Communications Center requires successful completion of 911 and

Communications dispatch training.

Requirements:

Requires current certification in use of Corporate Security Services self defense equipment.

Valid drivers license with less than 5 points.

High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience:

The candidate must have one (1) year of security experience in the Protective Services Officer

program at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions or be a law enforcement officer who has

graduated from an accredited law enforcement training academy. Must be at least 21 years of

age.

Salary Range: Minimum 17.11 per hour - Maximum 28.26 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
