We are excited to share the University of Virginia has recently launched a new Women's Health Fellowship Program.
We are now accepting applications our first Fellow with an anticipated start date of August 2025.
Our program offers a one to two year clinical fellowship with an opportunity for research in a rich academic and clinical environment.
The core focus of the fellowship is to encourage women's health scholars to develop their clinical skills alongside experienced healthcare providers.
Our program is designed to train clinicians who aspire to become experts in the field of women's health throughout the lifespan.
Our Fellow will spend 60% of their time in direct patient care providing services within their professional scope within the Midlife Health clinic and, if applicable, UVA Medical Center surgical areas.
40% of time will be spent in training as described below: As a fellow, some of the unique opportunities offered by our program include: + Opportunities for multidisciplinary rotations with specialists in menopause, endocrinology focused on osteoporosis, gynecologic specialties, breast health, women's cardiology, women's internal medicine primary care focus, and more.
+ Strong emphasis on evidence based knowledge, clinical management, and skills development in women's health, and opportunities, if interested, for research and medical education.
+ Training and mentoring by nationally recognized faculty in women's health.
+ Our program provides a supportive environment that values your work-life balance and professional growth.
+ The program can be modified depending on the candidate's training and clinical, education, and research interests.
+ Optionto pursue certification to become a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP.) Eligibility: Completed MD or DO from ACGME accredited program.
This fellowship is open to residents (who could be in their third or fourth year) or graduates from Ob-Gyn, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine who are in or graduated from an ACGME accredited program.
Graduates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in their primary speciality.
