Job Details
Level III will assist in supervision of the Environmental Controls Engineer team members
Level IV will assist in supervision of the Environmental Controls Engineer team members as well as vendor oversight for project management
Our next Controls Engineers (Level III or IV) will be responsible for the deployment and maintenance of the building monitoring and controls system employed at our data centers. This member of the Environmental Controls team will work to find creative ways to keep operational costs to a minimum and will work outside of the box with team members to improve efficiency. The Controls Engineer III & IV will also work closely with Controls Management to develop and maintain the Controls Team. This person will work with Data Center Operations, App-Dev, Networking, Orders, Sales, Accounting, and Construction teams as needed.
Responsibilities Duties
Assist with the development, administration, training, and evaluation of Environmental Controls Engineers
Develop sequences of operation and programming to ensure optimal and reliable system operation
Customer, Vendor, and our team member response, coordination, and follow through for all requests, to include afterhours support
Travel, plan, and install control devices and conduct functional testing for our building management systems
Maintain databases, devices, graphics, trends, and support infrastructure as needed for our BMSs
Quality assurance of Environmental Controls responsibilities
Create and maintain as-built wiring diagrams
Provide innovative ideas and solutions to support in the advancement of our company
Assist with product development and validation of new company solutions
Plan and execute large scale projects related to BMS and Controls systems
Manage and coordinate vendor work to support our company required projects
Attend training, seminars, and factory acceptance testing
Provide assistances to customers when assigned
Participate in policy and procedure development and maintenance
Compliances with policy and procedures
Implementation and compliance with change management processes
Required Skills Experience
5+ years installing and maintaining building management architectures for HVAC and/or power
College degree in electrical, mechanical, electronics or software• Any certifications relevant to job field
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively
Ability to analyze and make suggestions for problem resolution
Solve problems with good initiative and sound judgment
Make decisions independently with minimal guidance
Have a good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems employed in a data center environment; including transformers, air handling units, cooling towers, pumping, and cooling systems
Have strong background in HVAC control systems and mechanical operation
Have a good understanding of safety requirements required while operating a multi-megawatt facility
Well versed in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
Microsoft Suite: Must have MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
