Description

Reporting to the Executive Director, the primary role of this full-time instructional position is to provide post-secondary instruction and instruction-related activities designed to encourage, support and enable students' success. Examples of Duties

Essential Functions/Duties:

Teach courses in accordance with published course descriptions, schedules, procedures, and course outlines

Work with the Executive Director and Program Manager/Coordinator as appropriate to assess and modify program goals, objectives, methods, and content.

Conduct on-going evaluation of student progress and maintain records of student course/class performance.

Prepare and submit grade reports and other reports on student performance as may be scheduled or required.

Conduct class evaluations and complete other college evaluations in accordance with college policy.

Maintain a high level of expertise in the subjects taught.

Other duties as assigned

Typical Qualifications

Required Skills:

Extensive knowledge of the subject area(s) in which the individual is responsible for instruction.

Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of effective communication and effective instruction.

Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and challenges of community college students.

Knowledge and understanding of principles of curriculum development.

Required Education:

Three plus years of verifiable full-time work experience in the Welding industry.

Industry certifications in Welding - AWS (must be attained within 3 months of employment)
