Title: Campus Rec Pool Operator VP Area: Student Affairs - UMW Department: Aquatics Campus Location: Main Campus Advertised Range: Commensurate with experience up to $20/hour Job Summary/Basic Functions The University of Mary Washington is searching for a part time certified pool operator to manage our Goolrick Pool Facility.

Goolrick pool is a newly renovated 6 lane, 179,000 gallon competition and recreation pool.

The pool operator will be responsible for keeping UMW in compliance with the Fredericksburg Health Department, troubleshooting and reporting any facility maintenance issues as well as the general oversight of pool function including but not limited to: backwashing, operating the pool vacuum, and maintaining the water chemistry.

Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications * Pool operating knowledge * Pool chemicals knowledge * Aquatics safety knowledge * Risk mitigation knowledge * Excellent communication skills * Ability to mix, lift, and safely handle pool chemicals Required Experience: * Previous experience that has included direct responsibility/oversight of a commercial or community pool * Demonstrated experience with aquatics safety, and risk mitigation * Certified Pool Operator, and First Aid/CPR/AED Certification Additional Considerations: * Must be able to work some early mornings, nights, and weekends.
