The Movement Science Department is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic part-time adjunct instructor to teach undergraduate courses designed for Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) majors during the Fall 2025 semester.
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching future physical educators and be committed to supporting student success through interactive instruction, aligned assessments, and personalized academic guidance.
Primary Responsibilities: * Teach one or more Movement Science courses (lecture and/or activity based) for PETE majors as assigned.
* Design and implement course assignments and instructional activities that align with established student learning outcomes (SLOs) and department standards.
* Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction during scheduled daytime classes.
* Assess student performance through formative and summative measures and provide timely, constructive feedback.
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress in accordance with college policies.
* Hold scheduled or by-appointment office hours to meet with students regarding course content, assignments, or academic support.
* Collaborate with full-time faculty and departmental leadership to ensure curricular alignment and instructional consistency.
Requirements: Required Education: Master's degree in Movement Science, Physical Education, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a closely related field.
Required Experience: Teaching experience in higher education and/or K-12 physical education settings.
Knowledge of best practices in physical education pedagogy, motor learning, or fitness instruction.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to inclusive, student-centered teaching.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics: * Doctorate (Ed.D.
or Ph.D.) in a related field.
* Experience with teacher preparation programs and accreditation requirements (e.g., CAEP, SHAPE America standards). * Familiarity with curriculum design and assessment planning in college-level PETE courses.
