The Employee Engagement Intern will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of employee engagement initiatives across the organization, with a primary focus on Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and observance event programming. This internship offers hands-on experience in event logistics, internal communications, and cross-functional collaboration. The intern will contribute to meaningful projects that enhance employee connection, belonging, and engagement across our diverse workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the coordination and execution of ERG-led and council-led events, including observance month activities, virtual and in-person programs, and recognition events
Support logistics for events and meetings (e.g., scheduling, creating event materials, ordering supplies, coordinating catering/space/technology)
Help maintain and update ERG and engagement council planning tools, calendars, and tracking documents
Support internal communication efforts, including drafting promotional emails, event descriptions, Teams messages, and SharePoint content
Attend ERG and council meetings to take notes, summarize action items, and support follow-ups
Track event attendance and engagement metrics for reporting purposes
Provide administrative support for budget tracking and vendor coordination
Conduct benchmarking and research on engagement best practices and programming
Support other employee engagement projects and initiatives as assigned
Travel: Less than 10% of the time may be required.
Work Type: Hybrid employee - splits time between working remotely and working in the office.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Communication, Business, Public Health, or a related field Skills, Abilities and Knowledge
Strong interest in employee engagement, event planning, or HR strategy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint); familiarity with Teams and SharePoint is a plus
Comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative team environment
