North Orange County Community College District Future Instructor Training (FIT) Intern North Orange County Community College District Position Number: TH046P Location: District Services Department: District Diversity, Culture, and Inclusion Percentage of Employment: Months of Employment: Contract Dates: January 1, 2026 through June 30, 2026 Work Schedule: Job Description: JOB DESCRIPTION Examples of Responsibilities At-A-Glance: • Attend a mandatory orientation at the beginning of the program/term (estimated January 2026). • Attend and observe the mentor’s classroom for at least one hour per week during the Spring 2026 semester.

• Teach a minimum number of lessons/class sessions (under the supervision of the mentor, pursuant to the agreement between the mentor and intern). • Attend mentor-intern meetings once a week, with a minimum of 2 hours per month.

• Attend intern cohort group session meetings.

• Keep record of activities, including a journal of reflection during the program to be submitted and reviewed by the committee.

• Attend four mandatory training workshops, 1-4 hours in length.

• Attend a completion ceremony/graduation at the end of the semester.

Intern contract Dates – January 1, 2026 through June 30, 2026 Primary Purpose: Working Relationships: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Special Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Demonstrated interest in learning how to infuse your class content and teaching style with diversity, inclusion, multiculturalism, equity and /or social justice.

• Intern candidates should have completed no less than 75% of their advanced academic education or training, on their way to their program completion (graduate degrees for academic fields, terminal credentials for vocational fields). • No prior community college teaching experience.

• Commitment to diversity.

All applicants must have demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff.

The applicant must be able to demonstrate how their experience with these factors relates to successfully achieving the goals of the position.
