Nuclear Cardiology Technologist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Nuclear Cardiology Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures using nuclear medicine techniques to support cardiac assessments. The ideal candidate will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality imaging, patient safety, and accurate diagnostic results for cardiovascular conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for cardiac imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and safety protocols.

Perform nuclear cardiology scans including stress tests (exercise or pharmacologic) using appropriate imaging equipment.

Monitor patients during procedures and respond to adverse reactions or complications.

Operate imaging systems such as SPECT and PET, ensuring accurate calibration and performance.

Maintain accurate patient records and document all imaging procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.

Adhere to all radiation safety protocols and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other clinical staff to ensure optimal patient care and diagnostic quality.

Required Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.

Minimum 1 year of experience in a nuclear cardiology or nuclear medicine setting.

Proficiency in nuclear imaging equipment and software systems.

Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, as well as stress testing protocols.

Excellent patient care and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a hospital or outpatient cardiology clinic setting.

Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is a plus.

Certifications

ARRT (N) or CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) certification - Required

State licensure as required by jurisdiction

BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
