PURPOSE OF JOB: This job description applies to Penn Medicine Doylestown Hospital and Health and Wellness Center. However, tasks may differ based on location. This description reflects the performance of Diagnostic Imaging procedures on inpatients, out patients, emergency room patients and operating room patients, utilizing clinical skills, knowledge and competencies of the Radiologic Technologist. Radiologic Technologists also perform DEXA imaging. Perform other duties deemed necessary to the operation of the radiology department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Maintain clinical competency in the Radiology Technologist position requirements

Provide patient care for all of our customers by performing x-ray procedures as prescribed by a provider in a safe and respectful

Compile and maintain patient records and schedules while following HIPPA

Deliver/scan completed paperwork to the radiologist for interpretation and document applicable patient history (10%)

Ability to use a variety of equipment, including but not limited to Digital Radiography (DR), C-Arm, Computed Radiography (CR), Portable Radiography and PAC's while practicing

Complete in a timely manner all required education, training and CEU's along with certification

Job Qualifications:

V. QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

HS diploma or equivalent, graduate from a JCERT / AMA accredited school, ARRT certification or board eligible

Must be ARRT (R) certified, or a graduate of an AMA approved, 2-year minimum program and sitting for the ARRT board exam. All board eligible radiographers shall have one year from their hire date to pass a certifying exam. This gives each radiographer several chances to pass. Until passing the registry, radiographers will understand that their continued employment is probationary. If these radiographers do not pass an exam after one year period, they must resign/be terminated.

Must be currently certified in CPR.

Each radiologic technologist must satisfy all required continuing education requirements in a timely manner and renew their certifications before the end of their birth month to remain an active associate. All associates must allow the accrediting body or ARRT access to verify their credentials online. The completion successful and timely completion of ARRT CQR activities as applicable. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in disciplinary measures.

Experience: Ideally, prior experience and / or training in use of all general radiology equipment, including portables, C-arm units, R&F, teleradiology and PACS systems preferred Registry Eligible candidates will also be considered

Other Skills: Good communication, customer service skills and computer skills.
