Key tasks include explaining treatments to patients, scheduling and confirming appointments, and maintaining accurate treatment plans and appointment data.
The Scheduling Coordinator optimizes daily, weekly, and monthly patient schedules, discusses financial arrangements, and presents financing options.
Knowledge and compliance with CDC, HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulations is essential.
Your ability to communicate effectively is crucial for collaborating with the clinic team to meet the needs of both students and patients.
Required Qualifications 2 years dental office experience, or comparable healthcare or financial administration experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and spend long periods of time standing or sitting.

Facilitate patient check-in and check-out with front desk team and building security staff.
Job Duty Handle incoming phone calls to schedule appointments, take messages for students and clinic staff and answer questions as needed.
Use phone scripts provided for new patient, emergency or appointment cancellation calls.
Job Duty Become proficient in using clinic EHR software.
Job Duty Oversee the patient schedule to ensure efficient daily, weekly, and monthly schedule and chair utilization, following clinic scheduling guidelines Job Duty Maintain and monitor the accuracy of EHR data, including treatment plan and appointment data entered by students.
Job Duty Efficiently track daily, weekly, and monthly progress on group/student production/collection goals to maintain productive clinic operations.

Seek guidance from the Clinic Manager or Patient Care Coordinator if a patient is unable to pay.
Job Duty Assist patients with outgoing referrals to specialists or medical professionals for treatment or consultation; coordinate care with the patient s student dentist/Faculty Lead.
Job Duty Complete CareCredit training and be prepared to present financing information to patients Job Duty Regularly monitor open treatment per student, including past due recall, in conjunction with the Clinical Supervisor and Faculty Lead to maintain student competencies Job Duty Display a keen ability to multi-task, be a self-starter and consistently take the initiative.
Job Duty Ensure practice compliance with all CDC, HIPAA, OSHA and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act guidelines and regulations Job Duty Follow practice protocols for patient financial arrangements and seek assistance from supervisors as needed.
