Department: Surgical Services / Operating Room Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technician to join our healthcare team.
Working directly under the supervision of a surgeon, the Surgical Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring successful surgical procedures by maintaining strict sterile techniques and assisting professional staff in patient care.
This position is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, a commitment to patient safety, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
The role also includes taking call responsibilities in accordance with department policies.
Key Responsibilities: * Scrub and assist in various surgical procedures in accordance with established aseptic and sterile techniques * Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and instruments before surgery * Maintain a sterile environment throughout the surgical process * Ensure high levels of accuracy and control of surgical instruments and materials * Handle specimens and surgical tools with care and attention to proper protocols * Work discreetly with confidential patient, family, staff, and financial information * Collaborate effectively with the surgical and nursing teams * Provide care in alignment with our Mission: To care, To heal, To educate Qualifications: Required Education: * Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program Certifications and Licensure: * Certified Surgical Technician (CST) and/or TS-C (Tech in Surgery-Certified) within 1 year of hire * Note: Staff hired as CST before 8/1/2016 are exempt from the certification requirement but must meet competency standards * CPR certification required for staff in Women's & Children's areas * NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required within 6 months of hire for staff in Women's & Children's areas Preferred Experience: * 1-2 years of experience as a Surgical Technician Work Conditions: * Must be able to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotation as per departmental policies * Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/push heavy equipment * Exposure to clinical environments and potential biohazards Why Join Us?
